This journal cover design is inspired by a beautifully crafted 16th-century bookbinding from a Cairo workshop. Although the workshop’s name has been lost to history, its intricate patterns and fine materials reveal the exceptional craftsmanship that made its books highly prized. The original binding is now preserved in the Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf, Germany.
