Art Exhibitions

This exhibition represents a selection from Pierre Sioufi's private collection, which includes more than 10,000 posters, lobby cards and various cinema collectibles from the period 1932-2017. Pierre Sioufi was passionate about collecting cinema memorabilia in various forms and types, and this collection reflects the remarkable diversity of Egyptian cinema over more than a century. Through this exhibition, we hope to shed light on the great diversity of visual language and aesthetics that developed in Egyptian cinema throughout its long history, which in turn reflected the political, social and cultural changes since the beginning of the twentieth century.

 

*The exhibition will be presented in three editions. The first edition, highlighting films from 1930s to the 1970s, will be exhibited throughout the month of June. The second edition, featuring films from the 1970s to the 1980s, will run throughout the month of July. The third edition, showcasing films from the 1990s to 2010, will be on display from August to September.*
